Questions for Keynotes at #utopYA2015!

Hi Everyone! Today I have a fantastic opportunity for you all, but I’m going to get to that in a little bit. Last year at utopYA2014, Sylvia Day and Gennifer Albin gave two fabulous keynote addresses. Both were inspiring and motivating. They were feel-good moments of the conference for sure. This year, utopYA has expanded to an additional day, and because of that, there are THREE keynote speakers for 2015. This lineup is epic!!

Denise Grover Swank

Lauren Miller

Kim Holden

Now back to this fantastic opportunity.

Each of these amazing authors, in addition to their keynote addresses, will be answering 10 questions in a blog post interview on utopYA’s webpage.

Guess what? Eight of these questions in each interview will come from you! That’s right, EIGHT! This is your opportunity to ask your burning questions of these authors.

This week, I am accepting questions for Denise Grover Swank and Lauren Miller. That means you have sixteen chances to have one of these two fabulous authors respond to your questions. Next week, Ashley at Book Junkie: Not-So-Anonymous will be taking questions for Kim Holden.

Just leave a comment with your question for Denise, Lauren, or both (say who you are asking), and we will randomly draw eight to be featured. You can ask about personal things, professional things, really anything (within reason).

Disclaimer:  Questions will be approved based on appropriateness for the venue and for lack of repetition, so if your question is inappropriate or repeats something that has already been asked, another name may be selected. You can ask a question similar to someone else if it is something you really want to know, but asking one of the authors what her cell phone number or address is will likely be wasting this awesome opportunity.

Here is some more information about Denise Grover Swank and Lauren Miller.  Be sure to submit your questions in the comments.  We will draw the winners on February 6th!

Lauren Miller is an entertainment lawyer and writer in Los Angeles where she lives with her husband and two children. Lauren wrote her debut, PARALLEL (HarperTeen) while on maternity leave from her law firm job and blogged about it, an experiment she called “embracing the detour” (also the name of her blog). Many people told her she was crazy. When she realized they were right, she told no one and kept writing. Her second novel, FREE TO FALL (HarperTeen), was nominated for YALSA’s 2015 Best Fiction for Young Adults reading list.  You can find Lauren online at

Lauren will be speaking on Friday, June 19th. Here’s what utopYA had to say about Lauren.

Denise Grover Swank is a single mom in Lee’s Summit, Missouri raising five of her six kids. (The oldest has gone off to live on his own.) She loves to embarrass her children whether it be spontaneous dance parties in the kitchen or making her teens’ friends think she’s funny/cool. (Even if it’s in her own mind.) On rare occasions, she is known to post stories about her crazy life on her family blog There’s Always Room for One More. She keeps her sanity by creating worlds to escape to and characters to hang out with. She is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author. You can find Denise online at
