Hey everyone! Yesterday this image was posted on the UTOPiAcon Facebook page:
This is not a drill. There are now 74 days left until UTOPiA, I repeat, 74 days until UTOPiA!
With that in mind, here are a few updates that I think you might be interested in.
First, the nominating process for the UTOPiA 2016 Awards has started. Eligible books are those published between April 1, 2015 and April 1, 2016 that fall into the categories set forth by Utopia. Nominations are made by the academy, people in the industry who are or previously have been panelists at UTOPiA/utopYA. Once the nominations have been compiled, voting will begin. Look for an announcement of this in early May.
Wise Ink, established in 2012, is “a creative publishing agency created to help passionate authors through the hurdles of publishing.” It’s website is currently being overhauled, but you can check them out on Facebook and Twitter.
Vellum is an ebook creation software for Apple users, that “will help you create beautiful eBooks for Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, and more.” It’s website goes into better detail than I ever could, so I encourage you to check it out. Vellum also has a Facebook page and Twitter account.
Third, you have the opportunity to ask one of our keynote speakers a question that she will answer on a post on the UTOPiAcon website before the conference. This is a fun way to get into the UTOPiA mindset before the conference even begins.
Fourth, now is a great time to register for the Sched website and app if you haven’t already. It will be a great way to keep yourself organized with what’s happening when while at UTOPiA. We’ll go into more detail next month, but now is a great time to get started.
Fifth, if you don’t have your ticket yet or if you don’t have an exhibitor table yet and were thinking of getting one, now is the time to get one. All tickets for UTOPiA are 10% off this month!
